Seascapes are a constant source of inspiration to me. I find solace even on a misty day in the harshest Winter by the sea in Aberystwyth. I feel present in each of the seasons and weather systems. The waves crash at Tanybwlch; the starlings murmurate around the pier; the colours switch from cobalt blue to paynes grey in the Irish sea, the golden sun sets whilst the walkers kick the bar at Consti. I watch and gaze and aim to capture the spirit of the place by expressing imagery from phone photography into monotype and lino prints.

My focus is on the sea and the seaweed that circulates within it. At the seaside there is a relationship with nature. I taste the scent of the sea water on my lips and listen to the sound of the sea as I close my eyes to the world for a minute. I keep coming back to drink in the view and lift my soul and spirit. The sea is a powerful symbol of the human experience. This project has fired my imagination and made me smile.
